Will the IDE plugin work with the pro edition?

Another question if I may. Will the IDE plugin work with the pro edition – ie be able to perform a SmartSearch behind the firewall against our code that the koders pro edition search engine has indexed? Thanks Christian Crowhurst

Both the Eclipse & Visual Studio plugins are compatible with the Pro Edition. You can configure them to search against your internal code, indexed by Pro, and/or search against the Koders.com open source index. In order to configure the plugin to search against your enterprise server running Pro, please follow the directions in Q11 of this FAQ

Thanks for the info. Now all I need is the pro edition download. I signed up to the beta two days ago but haven’t received confirmation by email as yet. I’ve checked our spam filters just to make sure but still nothing. Who should I contact for chasing ;-) Christian

Hey Ben, that’s very good of you :-) I must say that I’m keen to give it a go. I have high hopes that the tool will address a dilemma I and my project manager have which is: how can co-located developers be aware at the point of writing code, whether someone else on the project has written similar code.

Its a major issue for us and I’m sure many other teams – you only get the benefit of writing reusable code if it is actually reused! The pro version seems a perfect compliment to our internal wiki collaboration tool.
